U.S. urban population remains digitally divided

Obama-Internet-Quote

One in four Americans in most urban areas has no broadband at home. In some cities the digital divide separates populations almost by half. In Miami, Dade County, 42 percent are not connected at home, and in Baltimore, Maryland, 35 percent have no Internet access at home. Despite FCC’s ruling that Internet is a public utility and recent federal plans to subsidize access for low-income households, the most impoverished Americans have no Internet service at home.
